Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat this year was a success! Kade really enjoyed himself this year. I taught him to say, "trick or treat," and "thank you." I was so proud of him. He never said,"yucky," which I was afraid would happen. We did a little trial run at home and he did not like what I put in his Jack-o-latern and threw a fit. Anyway he had two days of trick or treating. We went with Nana to Holzer Rehab floor on Tuesday and then hit the big town of Vinton on Thursday. We met up some of the neighbors and had a great time. The weather was perfect and Kade was excellent. We also carved a pumpkin this year and now Kade cannot wait to shoot it. Of course that is Ryan's idea of how to dispose of the pumpkin. Yesterday, it was shot with a paintball gun, but it is still intact and may make its way to Papaw's this evening for its final resting place.

The Land of our Dreams

Ryan and I have been looking for land for some time now. We would like to stay close to our family and be able to do a little farming. Ryan and his family grew up on a small farm and we want Kade to have the same if not better opportunity. We want to have a dog and privacy all of the good things that come with land. We found 30.5 acres in Vinton and hope to make it our home. This has been a long process with the economy, the deed, the amish, etc. to say the least. Hopefully soon we will be able to call this land ours. There is a house on the property and as you can tell it is in great shape! Needless to say we will be building eventually.

New to the Blog

Well, I thought I would give this a shot and create a blog. I guess I am getting a little old for myspace and I am jealous of the Wingerter's and Phillip's. Hopefully I will find interesting things to say and not bore everyone.
